$2.2M in Damages Awarded in Elder Abuse Case Against a Kentucky Nursing Home
Garcia & Artigliere elder abuse attorneys Stephen M. Garcia, Matthew M. Coman and Christopher “Ryan” Wood secured $2.2 million in damages on behalf of their elderly client E.S., who suffered significant injuries as a result of elder abuse while a resident at Martin Manor, a skilled nursing facility in Inez, Kentucky. Notably, $1 million in punitive damages were awarded by the jury as punishment for the facility’s failure to adequately care for the Plaintiff.
After being admitted to Martin Manor, the facility’s neglect and lack of necessary care resulted in numerous injuries to E.S., including multiple and avoidable painful pressure sores, the development of gangrene, and amputation of his left leg. He passed away shortly after leaving the facility.
